BRICKS 4 KIDZ team member Mic Lowne will be speaking to delegates at the Education Show 2016 on the topic of Competition Robotics: Why Nerds are the Next Sporting Heroes in your School.

For far too long school trophy cases have been dominated by football shields, match winning cricket balls and netball trophies. But now in true 80s movie style it’s time for the nerds to fight back!

Competition LEGO^® Robotics is a chance for those students who always seem to have a ‘tight hamstring’ or a ‘dodgy knee’ when PE rolls around to stand together and represent the school using their superior Nerd Intellect. In this session, LEGO^® Nerd Mic will discuss how competitions like FIRST LEGO^® League and RoboCup are a great way to engage students in meaningful learning opportunities, develop social and team-working skills while representing the school, at a State, National and even International level (let’s see the footy team do that!).

Held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from the 2nd – 4th September, the Education Show is one of the key events of the National Education Summit.
