THEME: AFL teams up with Bricks 4 Kidz!

The AFL Victoria Footy Clinics introduces both boys and girls who are turning 5 and turning no older than 12 in the year they register to the basic skills of Australian Football.

It builds on the skills of children who have already been introduced to the game and also teaches children with limited to no experience of Australian Football to the skills of the game. NO experience is necessary; this is the perfect place to give it a try.

The program is a fun and inclusive program for boys and girls and includes skill development, fun activities, minor games and modified games. Bricks 4 Kidz stations of our popular Technics, 3D Colour models, Mosaics and games will be included in the schedule of activities to bring a balance to the day and build on team spirit of having fun.  The holiday program provides an exciting and safe environment for children to develop their skills whilst interacting with others.

The program is delivered by Level 1 AFL accredited coaches

THEME: “GAME ON!”

Are you ready for some fast paced creative games?  Today’s workshop introduces new models in both Motorside Technics and Mindstorms Robotics that wil form the basis of group games, and challenges that will provide the spark for imagination and creativity!

Introducing the Trebuchet.  This model is a modern take on a medieval siege engine. A Trebuchet is a type of catapult that uses a heavy counterweight to throw its projectiles. Pull the arm back into the set position, lock it in place and load your projectile. Press the brick button, and you’ll hear a warning tone alert you before the arm is released.  And have you tested your skills in the Bottle Top Arena?  Join in the fun on a day that suits all skills and expereince levels.

For the junior builders we have spinning action with Technis as well as games using some Mindstorms robots.

How would you like to turn your next LEGO® creation into a robot, programmed to do exactly what you tell it to do?  The Junior Robotics 101 workshop offers all the fun of building with LEGO® Bricks PLUS the challenge of software coding!

Using drag-and-drop icon-based LEGO® WeDo® software, the workshop provides an introduction into the world of computer programming and robotics that will equip children to succeed in a technology-based marketplace. This fun, action-packed one day workshop combines real-life skills with real-kid fun!

Introcuding you to the magical world of the colour sensor.  Learn how to read light reflection percentages and program them into your EV3 brick to have your robot follow a coloured line and respond to your commands.

Jump into the world of classic arcade and video games!

Eat flashing dots, collect coins and rings, avoid getting killed by enemies……there are so many obstacles to overcome and levels to beat! People today have games with graphic animations and three dimensional capabilities.  Let’s take it back to when it all started, the 1980’s! That was the time of 8-bit and later 16-bit technology, which gave these old games their classic appearance.  Campers will build the famous plumber brothers, a Brick Eater, a Jumping hedgehog, alien invaders and more!  Can yoiu guess which classic games each model represents?
