I have recently started the Bricks 4 Kidz ® program in the area of Whittlesea and am very excited to be bringing these fun, educational classes to our children in the northern suburbs of Melbourne! Students will have an opportunity to experience hands-on engineering fundamentals as they build motorized models using LEGO® bricks.
Bricks 4 Kidz is an exciting program that introduces children S.T.E.M. concepts. We offer classes throughout the school year and provide all necessary materials for students to build our unique models.
As a primary school teacher with a Bachelor of Teaching, a Master degree in Education and a certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages as well as twelve years of teaching experience and being a mother to two primary school aged children, I am very aware of the benefits that a program such as Bricks 4 Kidz® has to offer to our children as well as the need for this program in our area. I am excited to be teaching classes such as Mining and Crafting (Minecraft®) (and thanks to this program I finally learnt what the fuss was all about 🙄 ); Angry Birdies (Angry birds®); and who knew that you can add batteries and motors to the simplest of brick creations and have the best fun trying to make solid structures move?! I have been having the best fun designing and figuring out how different components work together, and watching the children’s faces light up as they have figured out how their model moves- it is absolutely priceless! There is nothing more captivating than witnessing a child’s confidence blooming as they have accomplished creating something with their own hands!
Term one was quite challenging as I was trying to find suitable locations for our after-school classes but by term 2 we are well and truly settled in Laurimar Community Activity Centre, Galada Community Centre and Mill Park Heights Primary School. I am also on the look out for a location towards the Thomastown area so as soon as I have one locked in I will post in on the website.
Birthday parties have also become quite popular with bookings made up until middle of August!
Until next time,
