Hello there 🙂

I can’t believe that term 2 is nearly finished! For the first time in 20 years of employment I can honestly say that time does fly when you are having fun! I am having so much fun teaching my Bricks 4 Kidz classes that sometimes I feel guilty for enjoying my job so much; surely work is not supposed to be fun, is it? And it’s about to get a lot more fun in only two more weeks…Holidays are here! yay! Which means Holiday Program is here. And now that is some serious fun! Angry Birdies in Galada is sold out, Super Hero Academy will be soon as well, Mining and Crafting was a massive hit last holidays and now I’ve noticed that heaps of the kids who attended it during the last holidays have signed up again for these holidays-which goes to show that it really must be good! Kids really know and are not afraid to tell you if they like or don’t like something, and having them attending the same workshops more than once tells me that I am definitely doing the right thing by them-I am so honoured, and humbled, and absolutely ecstatic to be putting a smile on their faces.  We are also introducing Clash of Bricks these holidays, based on the hugely popular Clash of Clans game. My own children (I have two, a 9 year old boy and a 6 year old girl) are completely obsessed with this game so they were beyond excited when I told them that I will be running the holiday program.

I am really looking forward to the Kidz Night Out too. I have spent so much time researching the right music, the most fun games we could play, sorting out the Lego bricks and making sure all the building models are based on the most popular current themes and the fact that we will have pizza delivered on the night for dinner-what else could we ask for!? I think giving parents options to have a few hours to themselves whilst they know that their children are safe and enjoying themselves is a great community service. We all need a little break every now and then and parents can feel guilty about having to ask for it for themselves, but when an opportunity like the Kidz Night Out comes along  where the kids are actually benefiting from an educational and social program then the parents can feel reassured that they are doing the right thing by being away from their kids for 3 hours.

Lastly, Bricks 4 Girlz is finally here! I have combined it with the Frozen theme i.e. Freezing because I was too excited and I couldn’t decide which activities I wanted to conduct, I wanted to do all of them! So instead I picked the ones I thought were most fun (a hard task!) of both and combined them. Now to be frank, I am not a fan of the “No boys allowed” slogan attached to our Bricks 4 Girlz workshop as I think that anyone should be allowed to do whatever they choose for themselves, so please take that slogan with a grain of salt-But that’s an adult speaking… the girls that I have spoken to seem quite excited by the fact that they will be attending this special workshop for girls only, it’s some sort of sisterhood bond that they feel that they are sharing together and apparently that’s a really good thing when you are 7 years old! So, as long as the girls are happy-who am I to stand in the way of happiness 😀

So,  I have started preparing the take-home goody bags already because no-one wants to leave a good party empty handed 😆 and I am looking forward to seeing lots of smiling faces on the holidays.
