Christmas Crafting with the Kids - 25 Christmas Activities

Day 3 – Crafting All Things Christmas With Kids 🎨

Try crafting with paint, pencils, paper, LEGO®️, pinecones, popsicle sticks, and mason jars!  Paper snowflakes are very simple to create and you can display them on your windows. Or stencil your windows!

Create Christmas trees out of popsicle sticks. Decorating them with green paint with glitter and a gold star to look great on top.  Painting Mason jars in Christmas style makes for a lovely lolly jar. Make an inexpensive homemade gift! 🎁

Express emotion with colour. Pretty Christmas artwork brightens the home! You can do so much with LEGO®️ too, why not build Santa, a Christmas tree, Ruldolph, or a bell!  Check out the ones we did earlier.

Try your hand at making Christmas cards to give to nanna, aunty, or a relative.  Not only are you having a fun Christmas activity with the kids you are creating a decorative Christmas scene that will create merriment all holiday long.  Crafting is a wonderful creative Christmas activity. Wish you had snow at Christmas? Well, you can… in a modified way! Deck out your kids in a Christmas beanie and head to the Hunter Ice Skating Ring. For some of us, a white Christmas is merely a dream.  For my family, this wish makes it to the top of the list. Live out that white Christmas fantasy!

Ice skating is a fantastic Christmas activity for kids. It creates a magical ambiance, skating to classical Christmas tunes. 🎶 It also promotes physical fitness which helps kids develop balance. Ice skating is a great opportunity to spend enjoyable time with family and friends. 👪

Christmas Drinks For You and the Kids

Day 6 – Slurping Chrissy Festive Drinks 😋

Dedicate an evening to making delicious festive drinks with the kids.  Sip on hot chocolate made special with marshmallows, cream and sprinkles or apple cider all warmed up with spices like cinnamon and cloves. Try non-alcoholic Eggnog (with a sprinkle of nutmeg). Have you tried gingerbread hot milk? Yummy.

There are so many special beverage options available. Be sure to include the extra fancy sprucing to make it feel extra special. The kids will enjoy sipping on their delish drinks with their parents. In raining weather adults might like to enjoy some mulled wine. In the Summer, try making all these invigorating Chrissy drinks iced!

Day 7 – Connecting Through Family Puzzle Time 🧩

Puzzling is a great Christmas activity!  It might not be everyone’s cup of tea but it becomes everyone’s OBSESSION! When puzzling with younger children choosing a puzzle with fewer puzzle pieces will make it easier for them keeping them more engaged. It should be challenging enough to also keep the adults intrigued. A puzzle of around 500 pieces to 1000 pieces (older kids) is a good choice.

Christmas puzzles are plentiful online but if you want to pick one up the same day give Kmart or TK Maxx a try. TK Maxx has some cool Christmas puzzles this year (1000-piece Elf puzzle and winter wonderland puzzle) and fun games (National Lampoons bingo and card games) for the whole family.  Deck out your coffee table with puzzle pieces… yule adore it!
