Birthday parties are great at bringing us all together in a positive way, especially when we have a little help pulling them together!

Creating a super-FUN day that is entertaining for everyone shouldn’t be hard, it’s a must! Planning will help. Where do you start, I hear you say? Well, if you are hosting a birthday party start thinking early about the talent! Consider who you can ask to help plan engaging birthday activities. Who will best entertain the audience at your kid’s party?

Will you or someone you know lead the activities? Planning someone to step in to ensure the children are assisted in games will keep the kids happy and engaged. Rather than you doing all the work yourself, ask your talented friend for help! You can be the host who is calmly sitting back, in control of the party, you know the cool parent, that is you right?!!! 😉

Ask Nanna, Pop, Hubby, Aunty, or even consider getting some experts in to help you with the activity planning! It’s a good idea if you want the kids to have fun! Taking the time to choose a caring person you trust to create a super enjoyable day, that entertains and engages everyone will make a marked difference in how your party runs!

Choosing a good birthday party venue in Newcastle for your Child’s Big Day is something worth considering. Is the party to be held at home? Or do you want to get out of the house for a bit of excitement? How do you pick the best venue? Here’s the lowdown on what to look out for when choosing your party space.

A home party is an excellent choice for most of us! It’s affordable and you’re in the comfort of your own home. Rather than paying for an expensive venue, you can spend your money on your little Tike or something more important! You’ll still want to plan a few things; plan your space; try to find a wide-open area that is well lit up with natural light; parties held outside under a pergola are usually ideal and perfect in all fine weather; make sure your party zone is safe for the children with no obstacles; clear the space and set up your area with decorations; ready the music and you’re set up! “It’s a Bird, No it’s a Plane, No it’s your Birthday Party!”

A party theme will make a big difference to the special day.  Nothing is worse than putting time and effort into planning a party just to have the kids not interested! Where did I go wrong you ask? Well, boring kids is easily done when kids change their minds on what is the coolest thing this season!

To avoid this, a good question to ask is what theme is suitable for your child’s wants and age? Try thinking about what themes are cool for your child right now! Does he or she currently love Star Wars? Superman? Pokémon? Or adore Princesses? Whatever your child delights in, likely, their friends will too!  Once you have a theme that’ll be appreciated, you’re on your way to a successful party!

Want to have the wow factor? It’s easy to then plan a set of activities to bring the party to life around the theme! Focused kids are inspired. Directing attention at the party can be easy if you plan the timing of events. For a 2-hour party, why not split the party up into 4 x 25-minute activities to keep the kids moving and the momentum high!  For younger children having a party in the morning between 10 am to 12 pm is best whereas older children parties from 2 pm to 4 pm are ideal. These are times when creative energies are high!

All you need is LOVE.  But a cupcake would also be nice.

Taking time to cherish your child is the most important thing to remember.  Planning will help hugely but at the end of the day, some of our best moments occur when we just flow, it’s then that everything just falls into place easily. Your best birthday may be the uncomplicated one where you didn’t have a party but you spent time making memories with your loved one eating a cupcake at the local donut shop! Or it could be the party you decided to get someone else to run to make light work. Why? Simply because you were relaxed, engaged at the moment making time for each other, enjoying life!

Whatever you decide to do this birthday make sure its true essence is there… LOVE. Focus on your child, focus on yourself and focus on togetherness with dear friends and you can’t go wrong!
