Play. It’s an important part of childhood. From the simple joys of climbing a tree or catching a ball to the elaborate daydreams of flying to the moon in a box or building the world’s tallest skyscraper with blocks, these activities allow kids to let their imaginations soar (and expend some energy!).

Play helps children develop skills and abilities that are vital for success in school and in life. These include creativity and imagination, of course, but also include both cognitive and physical abilities. But its importance doesn’t stop there. Kids learn to solve problems and to gain emotional maturity through play.

Research has continued to support the importance of play for children. Interestingly, while free play certainly has a place, some research has highlighted the importance of guided play. In other words, play is especially beneficial in a child’s early development when it is combined with instructional strategies, thus encouraging learning. As kids grow older, their cognitive development expands beyond concrete reasoning to include more abstract reasoning. This development also benefits from the input of teachers.

Bricks 4 Kidz® embraces the idea that children can learn even more with guided play. We believe that kids learn best through activities that engage their curiosity and creativity, and we love showing them that learning is fun. Bricks4Kidz Workshops are a fresh way for kids ages 5-13+ to spend their school or holiday break! Guided by our experienced teachers and built around exciting themes, children will enjoy using LEGO® Bricks to build specially-designed Bricks 4 Kidz® models, play LEGO® games and explore the world of engineering, architecture and animated movie-making.

So let them play. We’d love for your kids to play with us!
