Grades F to 2 - Creative Minds Program with LEGO Technic
Creative Minds Program
Introduces students to the world of using Technical and Motorised LEGO® to build Bricks 4 Kidz® models that will demonstrate core Science and Mathematics concepts and awaken their creativity and inquiry.
World of Science Workshop: Students will discuss animal life cycles, animal classifications, and Biology.
Grades 3 and 4 - Innovative Minds Program with LEGO Technic and Robotics
Innovative Minds Program
Bring LEGO® Bricks to life with coding! Integrating Scratch and WEDO with LEGO models allows students to see and interact with cause and effect on a digital level. Our coding programs will teach students important strategies to enhance their logic and problem-solving skills, as well as help them work toward becoming technological innovators of tomorrow. Our programs offer a skill level progression of coding concepts with a fun, user-friendly coding software.
Coding Scratch + Building with LEGO Technics: Students will build our unique models with LEGO® Technics, then control their models with the codes they write using Scratch.
Coding WEDO + Building with LEGO Technics: Combines WeDo “drag and drop” pictorial Coding/Programming software with our own Bricks 4 Kidz® models to spark and develop young students’ interest in Science, Computing, Engineering and Technology subjects.
Grades 5 and 6 - Mastery Minds Program with LEGO Robotics
Using the latest EV3 Mindstorms technology students build, code and test their solutions based on real-life problems mastering the 21st Century Skills critical for future success. Our endless list of builds is sure to provide the complete fundamental components of robotics at best!
Coding EV3 Mindstorms + Building with LEGO EV3 Mindstorms: Students will be captivated as they incorporate the newest generation of motors, sensors and software by programming their commands directly into the intelligent brick, testing their capabilities by moving an object with a robotic claw, building a robot that draws, or creating a mousetrap.
Coding Scratch + Building with LEGO EV3 Mindstorms: Students will build models with LEGO® Education’s EV3 elements, then control their models with the codes they write.
Grades 2 to 6 - Video Gamers Mind Program using Scratch
Gamer’s Mind Program
Video Game Design – Scratch ONLY: Students will develop a range of coding and problem-solving skills as they create fun video games. Game designers will think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively to create various video games. Each Game Design unit includes a themed mini-model built with LEGO® Bricks that will be the main character of all of the games. Each game progressively teaches more advanced capabilities within the video game design software. Students will be proud and excited to actually play their very own completed video games.
Grades 2 to 6 - Artist Minds Program using Comic Creator
Artist Mind Program
Comic Creator – Comics are beneficial to learning in the classroom and not just a fun art-enrichment activity while focusing on language Arts.
Single 60-90 min incursion. Choose from our extensive list of themes or talk with us about focusing on specific Digital Technology Standards to find an incursion that works for your class.
Weekly 60-90 min incursions over a 3-6 week time-frame. Incursions suited to a longer unit of study and consolidating students understanding of Digital Technologies and Science concepts.
Single Whole School Incursion designed for Science Week, Engineering Days or as a special reward for students. Includes Multi-Age and options.

In 2015 we elected to have a BRICKS 4 KIDZ® 6 week science program rather than a one day excursion to Melbourne for our yr 3/4’s. The value for money wins hands down and EVERY student was engaged. B4K are organised with clear guidelines of working in pairs which was a powerful tool in building intrapersonal skills, while each week’s lesson reinforced class theory around ‘Laws of Motion’ making it relevant for the students. Our Junior Learning Hub at St James has been alive and buzzing with excitement this term as the students learned about science concepts through Lego. We incorporated the help of the Bricks 4 Kidz program and this has been hugely successful where the students had the opportunity to make items using Lego while learning about science. This was a unique program that offered a series of weekly learning where students gained invaluable knowledge about gravity, push/pull, why seatbelts are important and how to work patiently with a partner.
One of the most important aspects of the program was that Bricks 4 Kidz brought everything with them that the students needed to make their items. This included a small tackle box full of the required Lego, motors, power-packs and a book of directions. The students were given their task as shopper (the person who collects the items needed) or the builder (the person who places the items together). This proved to be a very successful way of learning with each other and taking turns.
Over the course of 5 weeks, the students learned to work with a new partner, ask questions, share the role of shopper or builder, help when required or to sit and be patient to wait for their turn. The interpersonal skills improved over the course of time, and the deep thinking skills and creativity also increased with success.
The Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) were all covered during this program and the students were able to take the skills learned from their Lego session back to the classroom and apply their new knowledge. What a hugely successful program with Bricks 4 Kids and we at St James enjoyed the professionalism and organisation from the team.
