Cool things people do with LEGO®: Building Blocks of Awesome!
Found a fantastic article today on the Societe Perrier site today, called “Building Blocks of Awesome: Meet the World’s 10 Most Creative Lego Artists” – wow! It is definitely worth having a look, and sharing.
They profile ten artists around the world who are doing surprising and very cool things with LEGO®. Some of our faves are:
-
Nathan Sawaya, from the US, who concentrates on using LEGO® as a new material for contemporary themes. His work, Yellow, pictured here at the top of the post;
-
Marco Sodano, from Italy, who used LEGO® to create pixallated versions of some of the world’s most familiar and significant artworks, thus exposing them in new ways to new audiences (see examples at the bottom of the post); and
-
Adly Syairi Ramly, from Malaysia, who uses LEGO® to recreate rock’s best album covers (now there is an art form at risk of loss to the world as we go digital!).
These artists all harness LEGO®’s flexibility, which helps it to be a source of inspiration to kids and adults (and artists!) worldwide.
Both images used here are from the Societe Perrier site. Take a look!
