Adelaide’s New Battery Powered Train Launched!

A-List super heroes & Lego celebrities attend the official unveiling of Adelaide’s newest battery-powered trains!

The July school holidays are about to get more exciting with the impending launch of the new battery powered Adelaide Bricks4Kidz Express (ADL B4K Ex) train.  Set for its official maiden run at this year’s Alpine Winter Festival held at the Glenelg Foreshore, kidz will have the opportunity to build this fantastic train and even test it out on purpose built giant train tracks.

The train passed it’s final testing phase last week at the Bricks4Kidz Lab Facility located near the Islington train yard and a media event was held yesterday that was attended by the who’s-who of famous names from various universes and legends from the past.

This alkaline battery powered train is an amaaaaazing [sic] feat of STEM.  I think I will buy one for the Bat Cave for my birthday party this year

NDIS Funding and Bricks4Kidz Workshops/Activities

NDIS Funding and Bricks4Kidz Workshops/Activities

How can I update my NDIS Care Plan to allow me to access funding for Bricks4Kidz workshops & activities?

Check your NDIS care plan to see if it has any goals relating to:

  • Developing fine motor skills
  • Developing social skills
  • Developing group or team working skills

If your current care plan does not include any of the above and you believe these these goals would be beneficial to include, simply have them included when you next revise your plan.  Feel free to speak to our team for any further info!

How do workshops and other activities benefit children with autism and other special needs?

BRICKS 4 KIDZ® workshops and events can be paid for with NDIS funds if your care plan allows for it.

It’s no secret Lego® has been recognised for a long time now as an especially therapeutic and educational aid for kidz with autism and other conditions that may affect learning or limit social capabilities.

Research shows that spending time creating and building physical objects stimulates young minds and has numerous benfits including:

  • building fine motor functions
  • problem solving abilities
  • improving concentration
  • an escape from stress and anxiety

Our Lego based workshops and after school programs provide an excellent way to obtain these benefits in a safe, fun environment.  Our workshops and courses are deisgned to enhannce these benefits further by providing:

  • an environment that promotes interaction with other attendees
  • group interaction to solve problems
  • trained instructors to teach STEM concepts such as forces, structure design, gearing ratios

Our team can help you with any NDIS related questions, just email us!

Do you manage your own NDIS Plan? You can directly access NDIS funding to attend our workshops - ask us how!

Is your NDIS plan managed? You can still access our workshops through approved NDIS Service Providers!

Speak to Empowering Futures to find out when they will be hosting their next exciting Bricks4Kidz event.
